Description

This education session aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of General Practitioners who work in residential aged care facilities on how to prepare, identify and respond to outbreaks.

Dr Bhakti Vasant, Public Health Physician, Queensland Health

Dr Kari Jarvinen, Specialist Public Health Physician, Queensland Health

Ms Deb Judd, Public Health Nurse at Metro South Public Health Unit


Audience: General Practitioners

Learning outcomes:

· Understand influenza and norovirus outbreaks

· Understand the importance of vaccination of the elderly

· Know the role of GPs in outbreak, preparedness, recognition and response

Registration: 6:30pm

Presentation: 7:00pm

This education forms an Accredited Activity under the RACGP QI&CPD Program. Attendance attracts 3 Category 2 points (Activity: 119670) 2017-2019 triennium.
